One of the aspects that I really like about my job occurs whenever I become an advocate for a client during our quest for the plan that's best for him. I work with a lot of professionals who depend on me to provide them with the most current options available, so I spend a lot of time just educating my clients on what to consider. I probably spend about 1 to 2 hours per week in seminars with our carriers just learning about new products, or hearing about how new government regulations may affect our current policy holders. I can save my clients a lot of time with the knowledge that I glean throughout the year. I love this industry because it is always changing, which means that I'm always learning something new. I'm constantly talking to my clients about the three factors that can really impact their premium: industry trends, age, and utilization, so that they can learn how to better control their own costs.
