Ronald L. Smith started in the insurance business in 1967 in New York City. He began his career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as part of their Executive MBA Management Program. He founded Agency Associates, Inc. in Indianapolis in 1974, growing the independent agency that is now one of the largest and most recognized insurance agencies in Indiana, with over $103 million of premium in force. Mr. Smith also founded Accomplished Underwriters in 1974, the life/health division of Agency Associates.

He is a member of several prominent insurance associations like the National Association of Health Underwriters, Society of Financial Service Professionals and The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Ron Smith is the past Treasurer and Board Member of the Indianapolis Association of Life Underwriters and past Chairman of the Board of the American Heart Association of Indiana.

He received his B.S. from the University of Evansville and his MBA from Butler University. Ron Smith is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC).
